Capture the Flag

I know you always feel like there is this half or my half that weighs you down,
dragging you to almost nothingness.

I know you see her as your Mount Everest,
except that you are not ever going to conquer her summit,
and at every base camp, you are reminded of this inability.

I know you hear the echoes of her green warty fingers scratching your surface,
cuffing your arms behind you:
a daily deafening handicap that follows you
even in your sleep.

Nevertheless,      here is the truth
The other side is taller, stronger, tougher!

She  understands   much more than the dwarf sister.
She gets that all these hurdles are but tiny ant hills
which you will squash          again and again
only to tower over and plant your flag into the summit,
claiming this land for yourself

instead of
her.
