A Good Little Girls Zine

Today i had to dig

all day

dig, dig, dig

my shoulders, they screamed, yelped: please stop

my palms, they broke open: bleeding with blisters

my mind, she begged and yelled and manipulated and gambled: stop, slide the dirt back in, it’s so much easier to leave the earth unchanged

Today I dug and dug and dug, even when it was hard, even when I was certain I should stop and turn around, go back into my air-conditioned house

I dug

For building a new foundation is bleeding, sweating, painful, courageous work.
