A Good Little Girls Zine

A Dull Ache

The absence of you is a dull ache
always there,
I take every OTC med I can get my hands on, but nothing works.
because when it comes to DNA, genes, this remains true:
you will always be there
I will always be here,
trying to cope with,
trying to numb out,
trying to fix
us.

I will go to every source to find the answer,
the right glue to fit us back together
but when it comes to DNA, genes, us,
it’s me whom I need to face fully,
me who needs to be accepted
by me for me,
guilt free.

The space between us,
is a constant battle:
I see it always
and it stabs me over and over.
