A Good Little Girls Zine

You should know,
I am
a stronger writer
a confident rice eater, nevermore doubting whether it’s good for me or not
like this Western world dictates

I eat olives at dinner daily,
wing my eyeliner like a professional
change my lipstick color on the reg, nails too

I now read before I sleep,
reading exactly what I want without judging myself for not reading enough
or not reading the right books as an English teacher,

I understand that my body is built to dance, that I am an athlete after-all

You should know
my palate is different, yearning for dishes I never knew I’d grow to crave
my mind, my craft sharper,
words and techniques I now use with ease and experience

You should know
I know
I see
I feel
it

All of it.

there is a kind of poetry:

that will represent it
all.
