A Good Little Girls Zine

I faked a congrats

Today,

though I don’t think it was a true fake, for the old me would’ve, flown out of her seat in a loud yay, yay, yay–setting aside her true feelings, smothering the vast sadness only letting it seep slowly into her nights.

The new me? She stayed seated, said awesome, turned back to her laptop and soaked in the thick velvety, dark that resides just beneath.

Today

I didn’t cover it up; no, I let it be: the brutal beauty together on the outside

Today I was me, the present me, the real me, today’s me.
