A Good Little Girls Zine

I wrote it before bedtime,

SOS!

I need you both, FaceTime, whatever…let me know when

Just as I clicked the letters, the guilt swooped in:  you don’t need to take care of me, I should be able to do it on my own, I shouldn’t need you.

Neither of you have sent a similar message, but then–

I hit send anyway, ignoring the fears of appearing weak and asked for a life line or two or three.

Like branches of lightning across a dark sky, your voices arrived, engulfing me with your fierce spirit.

You listened,

You loved,

You wrapped me tight in your gentle voices

The exact repose, I needed that night.
